Chattahoochee Tech Names Interim VP for Academic Affairs

Chattahoochee Technical College announced recently the appointment of Brenda White, Dean of Arts and Sciences, to interim vice president for Academic Affairs. White will fill the position held by Dr. Trina Boteler, who was recently named Executive Vice President at Chattahoochee Technical College.

In addition to the role of interim Vice President for Academic Affairs, White will continue her current role as Dean of Arts and Sciences.

"I look forward to continue working closely with students and my colleagues, while expanding my interaction with and support of other divisions within the college," said White.

White has served as Dean of Arts and Science at CTC since 2009.  Prior to that, she served at North Metro Tech as a Dean of Instruction for General Studies, Business, Technical Trades and Adult Education; as a Division Chair for General Studies; and as a Mathematics instructor.  She was with Cobb County School System as a high school math instructor for 18 years.

“Ms. White is a well-respected leader at Chattahoochee Tech and among her peers at other colleges,” said Chattahoochee Technical College President Dr. Ron Newcomb. “She is often applauded for her detailed knowledge of curriculum and processes, her forthright-with-a-smile demeanor and can-do attitude and her above-and-beyond hours on task.  Working with Dr. Boteler and the faculty, she has been a leader in dramatically expanding the kinds of offerings in the college’s Arts and Sciences arena, expanding the number of faculty and the schedule of classes, and more recently, in leading CTC’s team in the successful design and implementation of the new model for learning support.”
