Clark Creek Elementary School STEM Academy Wishes Troops Happy Holidays

Clark Creek ES STEM Academy students recently received correspondence from a group of soldiers serving in Afghanistan who received a “Happy Holidays” banner they signed. The students signed the banner during a Career Day visit to the school by Christine Schwartz, a Family Assistance Center Specialist with the Kennesaw National Guard Armory.

“I have to say most soldiers prefer Christmas cards or banners made from children over care packages. We have all the candy and chocolate we can eat, but to get items like that banner is truly special,” Lt. Kevin Smith said in the letter.  “My platoon conducts a very dangerous mission involving us leaving the base every day. These soldiers are working very hard, and it is very nice to know their work is appreciated.”
