Local Organizations Adopt Military Families for Christmas
American Legion Post 304 and Sidelines Sports Grille have partnered to bring warmth and happiness to several military families in Acworth and Kennesaw this Christmas season.
Traveling in a makeshift sleigh this Christmas Eve, Santa Claus will deliver groceries, toys, clothes and a hot Christmas dinner to military families of the Georgia Army National Guard.
Thanks to the hard work of Sidelines Sports Grille project coordinator Lindsey Crooks, American Legion Post 304 Cmdr. Ron Asby and Terry Hendrix, this project has become reality. Overwhelming financial support from Sidelines customers and American Legion members has not only allowed the groups to meet their financial goals this year, but exceed them.
Asby and Sidelines owner Carlos Lopez came to the same conclusion when they decided to partner together for this worthy cause.
"It is our way of saying thank you to these servicemen and servicewomen for their sacrifices for our country," Asby said. "Hopefully, we will make their Christmas a little merrier this year."
