Acworth Toddler Critically Injured

The 16-month-old likely fell 10 feet from the second floor inside a house, city police say.

A 16-month-old boy suffered a severe head injury after a possible 10-foot fall from the second floor inside an Acworth home on Terrace Drive on Tuesday night, according to the Acworth Police Department.

Acworth police said the child's parents were at home when the incident happened. They found the child on the first floor and called 911.

Cobb Fire and Emergency Services responded to the scene to treat the toddler, who was conscious and moving when officers arrived. A helicopter flew the boy to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite in Sandy Springs.

Authorities said the toddler is in critical but stable condition as of Wednesday afternoon. The case is being treated as an accident pending further investigation.
