Cops: Acworth Man Kills Woman, Self
A likely murder-suicide in Marietta is being investigated.
An Acworth man Sunday morning fatally shot a woman before turning the gun on himself, according to a Marietta Police Department spokesman.
Henry Harlan Wooten, 70, of Acworth and Kay Cornell Janus, 72, of Marietta had been involved in a long-term relationship, Marietta Police spokesman David Baldwin said.
At some point, Wooten went to Janus' home at 1510 Gateview Way. Just before 10 a.m. Sunday, Wooten apparently shot Janus in the garage of her home, Baldwin said. Police found Wooten dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in a cul-de-sac in the 1400 block of Gateview Way, Baldwin said.
The motive for the shootings is still under investigation.
The case is still under active investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact Marietta Police Detective Michael Freer at 770-794-5477.

I guess that, by that age, you figure people pretty much have everything figured out. I hope they determine what caused him to shoot her and kill himself. Such a horrible thing for the families of the two.
