The City of Acworth will be hosting the Love the Lake Parade on Saturday, Sept. 1 at 9:30 a.m. on Main Street in downtown Acworth.

This year’s theme is Go for the Gold: Celebrating the Olympics. This is the chance for your company, organization, school or civic group to get creative and show off a specialty vehicle, mascot, or float to compete for prizes.

First place will be awarded $275, and there will be $150 for second place and $75 for third for float entries that reflect this year's theme.

The parade will kick off the annual Love the Lake Festival at Cauble Park, which runs from Saturday, Sept. 1, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Sunday, Sept. 2, noon to 6 p.m.
