I-75 Interchange Focus of Acworth Open House

The meeting is scheduled for 5 p.m. March 28 at the WellStar Acworth Health Park.

The Georgia Department of Transportation seeks your input on a proposed new interchange at I-75 and Third Army Road in Cobb, Paulding and Bartow Counties.  On March 28, 2013 the Cobb County Department of Transportation will hold a Public Information Open House concerning the proposed interchange. The Open House will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at WellStar Acworth Health Park, 4550 Cobb Pkwy., Acworth, Georgia 30101.

The proposed plan is to construct an improved roadway facility from Dabbs Bridge Road in Paulding County through Cobb and Bartow Counties to a new interchange with I-75.  This new roadway facility is proposed to be grade-separated at US 41/Cobb Parkway with interchange-type ramps provided to and from US 41.

The new facility between US 41 and I-75 is proposed to run slightly north of the existing Third Army Road. It is also proposed to be grade-separated over North Main Street.

The proposed interchange with I-75 is located about half way between the I-75 bridges over Joe Stella Dr. on the north side and the I-75 bridges over Lake Allatoona on the south side.

The purpose of this Open House is to provide the public with an opportunity to view the proposed project, ask questions, and comment on the proposal. The Open House will be informal and the public is invited to attend anytime during these hours. There will be no formal presentation. A court reporter will be available during this time to allow the public an opportunity to make comments about the project. These comments will be included in the transcript of the Open House.
