Love the Lake Parade, Festival and Warrior Way 5K
Enjoy an Olympic themed parade to kick off the Labor Day festivities and a new Warrior Way 5K to support your local school.
Acworth has a lot to offer when it comes to Labor Day weekend fun.
The City of Acworth will be hosting the Love the Lake Parade on Saturday, Sept. 1 at 9:30 a.m. on Main Street in downtown Acworth.
This year’s theme is Go for the Gold: Celebrating the Olympics. Local businesses, schools and civic groups will get a chance to show off their specialty vehicles, mascots, or floats to compete for prizes.
First place will be awarded $275, and there will be $150 for second place and $75 for third for float entries that reflect this year's theme.
The parade will kick off the annual Love the Lake Festival at Cauble Park, which runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday through noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.
This year, the Love the Lake Festival will also be adding the Warrior Way 5K to support the North Cobb High School Cross Country Team. The event will take place on Saturday, and will start and finish at Acworth Beach in Cauble Park. The 5K Race will start at 7:30 a.m. and the 1K Fun Run will start at 8:30 a.m.
