McCall Primary Recognized by State
One Acworth school is among Georgia's Title I Distinguished Schools.
is among the 25 Cobb County schools recognized by the state as high-performing Title I schools, according to the Georgia Department of Education.
During the department's January meeting, 824 Georgia Title I Distinguished Schools were announced. The program is designed to honor high-performing schools that receive additional federal funding and services to support economically disadvantaged students.
A school must make Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) for three consecutive year in order to earn the Title I status. Schools that make AYP four or more consecutive years receive monetary awards, paid from federal Title I funds.
