Details of Robbery of Elderly Woman Released
The Paulding County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary and strong-armed robbery that led to the injury of an 88-year-old woman at the home.
According to sheriff’s office reports, the incident happened about 4 p.m. Thursday. A deputy that responded to a burglary-in-progress report at a home on the 1800 block of Highway 101 North in Dallas found Mary Jane Jackson bleeding heavily from her right arm.

Cobb Democrats Host Final Forum
The Cobb County Democratic Committee hosted a second candidate forum Thursday night, but this time the focus is on U.S. Congress, Cobb Commission and Cobb School Board candidates.

Canton Mayor Vetoes Fire District Ordinance
Canton Mayor Gene Hobgood vetoed a controversial fire district ordinance Thursday morning. The ordinance passed by the city council on July 19 suggests setting up a special fire district tax which would include a 3.12 mill tax to improve the city's fire services.
