Tornadoes Miss Acworth
A twister that spun from eastern Alabama through Polk, Haralson, Paulding, Cobb, Fulton and Gwinnett counties and kept moving east stayed south of Acworth, while another tornado petered out after staying north of the city.

A collapsed house is being reported in Haralson County in the storm's trail, and 11Alive says people on the ground west of Dallas reported seeing a tornado.

The track appears to be taking the brunt of the storm north of Dallas.
The National Weather Service has issued a severe-weather alert that dime-size hail is expected to hit Bartow and Cherokee counties.

The National Weather Service has extended the tornado warning for Haralson and Polk counties to 9:14 p.m. and added Paulding County to the warning.
The projected arrival time for the storm in Acworth is now 9:03 p.m., 11Alive says.

A tornado has been confirmed in eastern Alabama in a storm that has Acworth in its sights, 11Alive news is reporting.
The storm is expected to move from Polk and Haralson counties into Paulding, driving through Dallas at 8:38 p.m. and reaching Acworth at 8:53 p.m., 11Alive says. Haralson and Polk are under a tornado warning until 8:15 p.m.
Acworth, with all of Cobb and Paulding counties, is under a tornado watch until 1 a.m., the National Weather Service says. Bartow and Cherokee counties are under a tornado watch until 11 p.m.
Hail, strong winds and heavy rain also are part of the storm front moving through the area.
Everyone is advised to take shelter from the tornado threat, using the DUCK system: downstairs; under something; center of the building; keep away from windows.
