Acworth readers have chosen the frozen yogurt franchise as the winner in this week's Readers' Choice.
Congratulations to Menchie's on winning this week's Acworth Patch Readers' Choice for having readers' favorite frozen yogurt in town. The Acworth Menchie's franchise owned by Randy Elias and Scott Paton was opened in February of 2011. The shop located on Cobb Parkway offers a rotating selection of frozen yogurt flavors, such as blueberry tart, chocolate, French vanilla, Irish mint, pistachio and pumpkin. Many of the flavors come in healthy formats such as gluten-free, low fat and non-sugar added. Patrons serve themselves frozen yogurt and add a selection of toppings. Prices are based upon weight. “We think the new concept and high quality of the product gives consumers a dessert option in the neighborhood,” said Paton at Menchie's grand …

The science museum is your pick for a family-friendly place to spend time on a staycation.
It appears that when you want to get away without really going away, you go to Cartersville. In this week’s regional Readers’ Choice survey of staycation destinations, three of the top four vote-getters are Cartersville sites: Tellus Science Museum, Pine Mountain Recreation Area and Booth Western Art Museum.
