American Legion North Cobb Post 304 recently acquired a building at 4220 South Main St. to serve as its Post home. The facility is undergoing major renovations to make our home “ready for duty.”

At 4 p.m. Thursday, Commander Ron Asby and members of Post 304 will dedicate the newly installed outdoor flag pole and the American and POW/MIA flags. The flag pole and flags will fly directly in front of our newly erected American Legion Post 304 sign for the community to view and share in the Post's pride.

A “big ole” thank you goes out to two of Post 304 Legionnaires: Vietnam veterans David Brannan, for his purchase of the flag pole, and Dave Sibley, for his donation of the two Flags. Both veterans stepped up to the commander's challenge of “raising the bar” in their support of Post 304 and for God and country.

A special thanks also goes out to the city of Acworth's Parks and Recreation and Facilities Departments for their assistance in installing the Post's new flag pole.

There will be a short ceremony of dedication, and for those interested, a short tour of the facility will be provided. Everyone is invited to attend.
