Since 2004, U.S. Kids Golf (www.uskidsgolf.com) has honored golf’s best teachers with the Top 50 Kids Teacher Award. Applicants complete an online survey and winners are chosen based on their contributions to junior golf, such as: time devoted to teaching young golfers; innovation, creativity and fun in their programs; communication; parental involvement; and overall effort to grow the game.

“I am delighted to be recognized by U.S. Kids Golf, and fortunate to play a part in Cobblestone’s dedication to teaching children the fundamentals of golf, while making the sport fun,” said Wilcox.

A Class-A member of the LPGA, Wilcox is an accomplished athlete who took up golf only after international success as the country’s number one female skeet shooter, a multi-year World Champion and 1992 National Skeet Shooting Hall of Fame Inductee.

She began playing golf in 1980 and rose to the ranks as one of Connecticut’s best women golfers, competing in various national amateur events. In 1990, Wilcox moved to Woodstock, Ga., and helped begin the first Atlanta Chapter of the Executive Women’s Golf League before turning professional in 1992. She was recently nominated for Golf Digest’s Best Teachers in State for 2013-2014.
