Acworth Releases Details of Smoke on the Lake BBQ Festival

Admission to the festival is free.

The Acworth Parks and Recreation Department, North Cobb Rotary and Superior Plumbing are excited to announce the 4th Annual Smoke on the Lake BBQ Festival.

More than 25 teams will fill up Cauble Park in downtown Acworth on Friday, May 10 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., and Saturday, May 11 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Admission to the festival is free and free parking can be found downtown with free shuttles running Friday night and all day Saturday.

The 2-day event kicks off with a free concert on Friday, May 10. Sons of Sailors, a Jimmy Buffett cover band, will take the stage at 8 p.m. Friday. Reserved tables that seat six can be purchased for $50. The event will open back up to the public at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Tickets to taste the backyard teams' BBQ will be on sale for a nominal charge. You can vote with your stomach as patrons choose their favorite BBQ to crown the winner of a Primo Grill and the title of the People’s Choice Champion.

Activities for the kids will be in the Kids Zone and the music that we all know and love will be played acoustically as Scott Thompson of Peachtree Station will perform from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, with the awards given out immediately following the Acworth Community Magazine Cup festivities.
