Celebrity Chef Seamus Mullen will pay a visit to Acworth Health Park to provide tips for those living with rheumatoid arthritis to simplifying kitchen tasks.
On Thursday, Nov. 7, Mullen will join WellStar Health System to host the event in conjunction with the Rethink RA Campaign, sponsored by Pfizer, to provide information to help people living with RA better manage the disease.
Mullen himself knows the life-changing impact of RA. Some six years ago he woke up with pain so extreme he couldn’t stand. Doctors determined that Mullen had RA – the autoimmune disease that causes chronic pain, swelling and stiffness in the joints.
Now a successful restaurateur and author, Mullen is encouraging people living with RA to rethink their approach to managing the disease. Traveling the country with the Rethink RA campaign, Mullen is sharing his battle as well as some of the strategies he uses to better manage the disease. He's also providing tips on how he to simplify tasks in the kitchen along with recipes he’s developed that are easier for people with RA to prepare.
The event takes place Thursday, Nov. 7, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Acworth Health Park, 4550 Cobb Pkwy NW, Acworth.
