Cobb Animal Shelter Adopt-A-Thon

Save lives, win raffle prizes, and enjoy entertainment at the Aug. 6 Cobb County Animal Control Adopt-A-Thon.

The Cobb County Animal Control kicks off its race to win the ASPCA $100k Challenge by presenting a Adopt-a-Thon on Saturday, Aug. 6, and you can help.

What's better than kids, dogs, and summer family fun? The festivities include vendors, food, music, animal rescue groups, police K-9 demonstrations, raffles, special adoption rates, and more.

You'll also get a chance to meet the county’s first full-time, on-staff veterinarian, Dr. Amy Belew. Belew, 38, whose roots are in Cobb, comes to the shelter from Holcomb Bridge Animal Hospital in Roswell where she practiced for more than two years.

Thanks to residents' online votes, Cobb Animal Control is one of fifty shelters in the nation to compete in the final phase of the ASPCA $100K Challenge. The focus of this final phase is increasing adoptions at the shelter. Community involvement is an integral component of this competition, so residents are encouraged to tell friends near and far who may want to adopt shelter animals.
