Event Raises $2K for Needy Families

Cobblestone Golf Course hosted a tournament Sunday that benefited the Acworth Police Department's "Cop Tree" program.

Every year, the the Acworth Police Department sponsors local families through its “Cop Tree” program.

"This year’s families are in desperate need of everyday items, not just Christmas gifts," said Capt. Mark Cheatham, the department's spokesman.

Sunday, Cobblestone Golf Course hosted a Parent-Child 9-Hole Tournament that raised more than $2,000 for the families in need.

The money generated Sunday will help the Acworth Police Department purchase clothes, furniture, food and toys for them.
