Get Out: Art Camp, Outdoor Concert

There are plenty of exciting, family-friendly things to do locally this weekend.

It's going to be another hot and dry weekend. If you haven't acclimated to the weather yet or if you've already been sunning yourself out time, there's plenty of things to do indoors and out this weekend.

Why Go: There will be a raffle, food vendors, live music, hair coloring and bounce houses for you and the family to enjoy, not to mention helping a great cause.

Where/When: ; Friday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Why Go: Does your son or daughter have a love for art but needs a place to let it blossom? Summer art camps can help fuel their passion.

Pricing: $30/day, $125/week

Where/When: ; Friday, 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Why Go: Week-long summer camps will be going on summer that will challenge and fascinate your artistic youngster.

Pricing: $90

Where/When: ; Saturday ans Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Why Go: With young people being swept up by the virtual book revolution, it might be useful to remind them of how great the real deal is.

Pricing: $5, children under 5 free.

5. Concert on the Beach

Where/When: ; Saturday, 8 p.m.

Why Go: What says β€œSummer is here” more than a concert on the shores of Lake Acworth?

Pricing: Free admission. Tables can be reserved at $50 ($60 for non-residents) for six people and a parking pass.
