Get Out: Art Show, Concerts Galore

It's time to get out and enjoy your weekend.

This particular July weekend will be a hot one, to nobody's surprise. Expect temperatures in the low to mid 90s with the chance of some rain here and there. Taking the weather into account, we have picked some indoor activities to go with the usual outdoor fare. We hope to see you this weekend!

Why Go: Support one of and send your child to a dance camp! Whether its for an hour or all day, he or she will have fun and be active.

Where/When: ; Sunday, 7:30 to 10 p.m.

Why Go: Ever been to a piano bar? Dueling pianists Joey Singer and Bill Cunliffe will be playing all your favorites, and try to play them better than the other guy. Good times await. Besides, when one of the singers' names is Singer, you know it's going to be good.

3. Atomic Boogie

Where/When: ; Friday, 6:30 p.m. (band starts at 9 p.m.)

Why Go: This band's credo is “God loves you if you dance.” With an eclectic mix of soul, blues, and rockabilly, it's hard not to get on the dance floor. Call up the babysitter and enjoy a rare night to yourselves.

4. Acworth Opry

Where/When: ; Saturday, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Why Go: It should be cooling off by the time you get to Logan Farm Park to enjoy this bluegrass concert, just don't forget to bring a lawn chair or two and some beach towels to lay down on!

5. “The Best of Both Worlds” Artist Reception

Where/When: ; Saturday, 6 to 9 p.m.

Why Go: The contrasting styles of country and city life are displayed in this photographic exhibition by Bill Graham and Bill Kettering. Come meet the artists themselves and learn more about their work than you could elsewhere.
