Why Go: Because your son or daughter are looking forward to playing ball and you're looking forward to getting them out of the house for a few hours.

Pricing: $65 registration plus $20 for non-Cartersville residents


Where/When: ; Friday, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Why Go: Because you want to expose your preschooler with a green thumb to the wonders of nature and ecology.

Pricing: $5 per child (reservations are recommended; there is a new event every two weeks)

4. Missy Flapjack and the Butterworth Blues Band

Where/When: ; Friday 9 p.m. (doors open at 6:30 p.m., get there early)

Why Go: Because you want to celebrate St. Patrick's Day with the same band that brought down the house on with their mix of blues and rock-n-roll.

Pricing: $5 cover charge plus menu items; 21 and up only

Where/When: Bartow Country Republican Party Headquarters, 162 W Main St, Cartersville; Saturday, 9 a.m.

Why Go: Because you want to get involved in local politics and have your say about what matters to you in your community.
