Why Go: Bring the kids and all of you will learn about the Gate City Guard, one of the oldest and most prestigious military units in Georgia.

Why Go: Have you heard about murder mystery dinners? You enjoy great food (in this case BBQ) and play along with the actors to solve an Agatha Christie style murder. Imagine, dinner and a show you're a part of!

4. Make it and Take it: Keepsake Boxes

Where/When: ; Saturday, 10 to 11:30 a.m.

Why Go: Is your child a budding artisan? Here's a chance for him or her to learn the decoupage technique and build his or her own keepsake box!

5. Tai Chi Classes

Where/When: Roberts School (4681 School Street, Acworth); begins Aug. 1

Why Go: This may seem a long ways off, but registration is fast filling up. If you want to learn this ancient martial art from a real Sifu (master), here is your shot.
