Each week we'll give you the info on the five best family activities or events for the week.

Family Best Bets of the Week

Get up close and personal with the pandas at Zoo Atlanta, including a peek at the newest cub. Climb into the driver’s seat of a truck or tractor and more in Kennesaw. Or surround yourself in nature—real or make-believe. And after all that excitement, try your luck with the hoops on Monday for a chance to win a free milkshake.

  • Panda Delight

Where: Zoo Atlanta, 800 Cherokee Ave., Atlanta.

When: 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday.

Why go: Learn about these wonderful bears, see the newest cub, and make a souvenir craft to take with you. 

Pricing: Adults, $16 for members, $20 for nonmembers. Must be at least 4 years old to participate. Registration is required a week before the program date, and full payment is due at registration.

  • Chick-fil-A March Madness

Where: Brookstone and Acworth Chick-fil-A  locations.

When: 5 to 8 p.m. Monday.

Why go: Shoot a hoop for your chance to win a free small milkshake (one try per person).

Pricing: Free.

  • Touch A Truck

Where: Near the Depot, downtown Kennesaw.

When: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

Why go: Explore dozens of cars, trucks, construction vehicles and tractors, and meet the drivers of those vehicles.    

Pricing: Free.

  • NatureQuest Weekend Opening Celebration

Where: Fernbank Museum, 767 Clifton Road, Atlanta.

When: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Why go: Explore a multilevel clubhouse. Discover the inside of a red oak tree and a cypress tree. The virtual river has motion recognition software, allowing visitors to dip their toes in the river and see how the fish will respond. Animals live in the habitats in the exhibit. You'll also see B98.5 (Saturday only), DJ Willy Wow (Sunday only), Curious George, Georgia Bubbleman and more.

Pricing: Included with museum admission. Adults, $15; children 3 to 12, $13; 2 and younger, free.

  • Spring Wildflower Hike

Where: Sweetwater Creek State Park, 1750 Mount Vernon Road, Lithia Springs.

When: 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 20 and 27.

Why go: See beautiful wildflower habitats on a 2-mile guided hike with the ranger.

Pricing: $5 per person and $5 parking.
