Federal prosecutors view Dakota Blaze Dyer as a victim in its drug trafficking case against Thomas Malone Jr. and nine other defendants.

Malone, of Roswell, is the husband of former Sandy Springs solicitor Jeannine Malone. She was let go from her position, Wednesday, when city officials learned of her husband’s legal problems, after one month on the job.

UPDATE: State Seeks Indictment Against Former Middle School Parapro

A case against a former paraprofessional at a Forsyth County middle school will need to be presented to the Grand Jury for an indictment before the defendant can be formally arraigned.

The Jan. 2 court date listed on bond paperwork is just a date when Marvin Shane Pilcher, 26, had to report to the DA's office to provide current contact information.

Last month, Pilcher, a former paraprofessional at Riverwatch Middle School in south Forsyth County, was arrested and charged with one count of sexual battery against a minor, according to the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office.

Cherokee Sheriff's Office Continue Heightened School Visibility

More Cherokee County sheriff's deputies will be visible at Cherokee County schools once classes resume next week.
