Photos: Acworth Remembers Veterans

A Veterans Day ceremony was held at Patriots Point to honor those who have served their country.

More than 100 veterans and community members came together at , home of the Veterans Memorial, to honor those who have faithfully served their country as well as those who are now serving.

Students with the JROTC Units at and , as well as the Chorus also attended and presented at the ceremony.

The keynote speaker was Col. David Grant, who's retired from the U.S. Air Force. Grant said it is important for people to not only remember those who lost their lives for others' freedom, but also pay more attention to the youths who will be the next generation servicemen and women.

"We have a lot of catching up to do," said Grant. "We must help our youths to receive the necessary education and resources to grow into capable servicemen and women in the future."

Grant, now a State Farm agent, said community involvement is crucial in assisting the younger generation, and that Acworth is a great example where city government and local businesses are very involved with the schools.
