There is a 60 percent chance of rain, with a thunderstorm possible before 2 p.m. Tonight, there is a 30 percent chance of rain before 8 p.m.; the low is expected to be about 40.

2. In case you missed it. Today Acworth and all of Cobb County will head out to the polls to vote on the extension of the Special Purpose Local Options Sales Tax. If you're still unsure of the details of the tax and what folks are saying about it, check out these Patch articles:

  • lays out an argument against extending the SPLOST.
  • gives the pro-SPLOST perspective.

3. Happening now. Apart from the SPLOST voting, which runs from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., the Acworth Police Department is hosting another of its courses tonight at 6:30. The course is a great way to learn about how the police in Acworth and the criminal justice system as a whole operate.
