Local Gal Rocks in Upcoming Show Chorus Performance (Video)

The Song of Atlanta Chorus will be singing and dancing at Norcross High School on March 2, featuring Powder Springs' own Doreen Thornton.

The Song of Atlanta Chorus will be singing and dancing at Norcross High School on March 2, featuring Powder Springs' own Doreen Thornton. She is one of more than 100 women of all ages and backgrounds who gather together in celebration of the art form known as barbershop music, or the Song of Atlanta Chorus.

Doreen has lived in Powder Springs for 19 years and has belonged to the Song of Atlanta ever since. She introduces herself in the attached video. Under the direction of the musical direction of Becki Hine, The Song of Atlanta Chorus is a chapter of Sweet Adelines International.

Doreen will join the rest of the Song of Atlanta Chorus on March 2, during the group's annual show and silent auction at Norcross High School, at 5300 Spalding Drive in Norcross. Joining the chorus will also be FRED, an international champion Barbershop Quartet group, as well as renowned talk show host Spiff Carner.

Early bird adult tickets, before Feb. 15, are sold for $20 and after Feb. 15 for $25. Chidlren under 12 years old are free.
