Sales Tax Holiday Starts Today

This special back-to-school sales tax holiday in Georgia ends at midnight Saturday.

A special Back-to-School sales tax holiday begins throughout Georgia on Friday. 

According to the office of Gov. Nathan Deal, tax exempt shopping is limited to the following: 

  • Clothing and footwear, $100 or less per item.
  • A single personal computer or computer-related accessories, $1,000 or less.
  • General school supplies, $20 or less per item.

Items that do not qualify for the sales tax exemption include jewelry, handbags, watches and umbrellas.
