Small Business Q&A: Baby Junction

Co-owner Linda Lane shares what it is like to run a children's store.

Acworth Patch contributor April Zlotnik talked with Linda Lane, who owns with her husband Gene Lane.

Acworth Patch: What's the hardest thing about being a small-business owner in Acworth?

Linda Lane: Reaching to people to let them know you are here. I tried multiple means of advertising and it is always surprising to me when people come by and say they didn’t know we were here.

Acworth Patch: What's the best thing about your job?

Lane: Meeting excited moms who are expecting babies. It is always fun to me, to meet people that are happy.

Acworth Patch: What is the best thing about Acworth?

Lane: It is small enough to know people so you feel part of the community but large enough to have some diversity.

Acworth Patch: Why did you choose to open up your business in Acworth?

Lane: I bought an existing business. I have owned it for about four years.

Acworth Patch: Why did you pick this particular kind of business?

Lane: My husband and I really enjoy children and it is important to us to have safe products for new moms. We try to pick and choose our products for safety, quality and price.

Acworth Patch: What are some of the services you offer that people don't know about?

Lane: We carry a lot of gifts for baby showers or for babies. We carry a lot of accessories for babies’ rooms like lights or chandeliers. We carry infant clothing from newborn to 12 months. We also offer strollers and baby furniture. My son, who works with us, is certified in car seat installations, so he can install car seats for parents. We are a family business that is here for the good of the baby.

Acworth Patch: Is there anything else you would like to share about your business?

Lane: We are knowledgeable about our products and have friendly customer service. We are here to help.
