Small Business Q&A: Clear Summit Realty

Owner Ken Jones shares what it is like to run a real estate company.

Acworth Patch contributor April Zlotnik talked with Ken Jones, who owns .

Acworth Patch: What's the hardest thing about being a small-business owner in Acworth?

Ken Jones: I think the hardest thing is getting the word out there and letting folks know how to contact you. It is hard to get your name and presence out there and let people know you have a good business.

Acworth Patch: What's the best thing about your job?

Jones: The best thing is helping people. There is nothing better than helping folks either purchase or sell a home. It is the gratification of knowing that you did something good for somebody.

Acworth Patch: What is the best thing about Acworth?

Jones: Acworth has a good small-town feel but yet you’re close enough to go into the larger cities. There are a lot of activities in the area. We have nice clean roads. The crime rate is minimal. I think it is a safe place for folks to call home.

Acworth Patch: Why did you choose to open up your business in Acworth?

Jones: I opened here for several reasons. It is in a good location. I like the area, and Acworth has a low crime rate and good public schools. It is also close to the interstate.

Acworth Patch: Why did you pick this particular kind of business?

Jones: I have a passion to help people. I have the freedom to express myself as far as helping others.

Acworth Patch: What are some of the services you offer that people don't know about?

Jones: We offer our sellers a free market analysis to have an estimate of what the values of their houses are. We offer our buyers, including those buying their first home, the opportunity to have a one-on-one conversation to let them know what to expect and what the market hold is right now. There are new ambiances with selling with the foreclosures and short sells. A lot of folks haven’t bought a house in eight or nine years and do not know what the market is like now. I have the opportunity to have a consultation with them on those items.

Acworth Patch: Is there anything else you would like to share about your business?

Jones: I would like them to know that we have 13 years of experience in the real estate market. I would like for them to know we are customer friendly. We are a mom and pop type of real estate company. I don’t have a lot of assistants. I work with people from start to finish. I don’t hand someone off to an associate or is really not trained to meet their needs. Two years ago, we moved away from a larger insurance company so we can really help people one-on-one. And we have a good time doing it.
