5 Things: 9/11 Memorial at Allatoona and Cauble Park

Here are the things you need to know before starting the day on Sept. 9.

1. Weather. Mostly sunny skies are in today, with a high near 78 and calm wind between 5 and 10 mph, according to the National Weather Service. Tonight is expected to be mostly clear, with a low around 54. Mostly sunny weather is in for the weekend with a 20 percent chance of rain on Sunday. Highs are expected to be in the low to mid-80s.

3. Happening. Sunday marks the 10-year anniversary of the 9/11 attack, and a will be held at the football field at today from 9:11 a.m. to 10 a.m. The school's Navy JROTC will be hosting a somber ceremony, and there will be a guest speaker who was a first responder in New York City on that day.
