5 Things: 9/11 Memorial Service

Here are the things you need to know before starting the day on Sept. 7.

1. Weather. Mostly cloudy skies are in today, with a high near 69 degrees and calm wind between 5 and 10 mph, according to the National Weather Service. Expect a low around 56 tonight with north wind around 5 mph and cloudy skies.

2. In case you missed it. : A 95-year-old woman died at Kennestone Hospital after hitting a home on Bells Ferry Road.

3. Happening. : The Navy Junior Reserve Office Training Corps (JROTC) is coordinating a memorial ceremony to mark the 10th anniversary of Patriot Day and the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks on our nation. The ceremony will take place in the Allatoona football field on Friday, Sept. 9 and begin promptly at 9:11 a.m.
