5 Things: Celebrating the Fourth of July

Here are the things you need to know before starting your day on July 4th.

1. Weather. There's a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms this afternoon, with the rest of the day expected to be mostly sunny with a high near 94 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Tonight will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 70 degrees and west wind around 5 mph.

3. Happening. July 4th Concert and Fireworks: There will be live music and fireworks at today brought to you by the City of Acworth and Acworth Business Association. Concert starts at 4 p.m. and fireworks will begin at approximately 9:30 p.m. Admission to the concert is free. There is also free shuttle service from downtown Acworth to Cauble Park. 5. What about July 4. Today is Independence Day, also known as the Fouth of July. It is a federal holiday commemorating the United States declaring its independence from Kingdom of Great Britain in 1776.
