5 Things: Onsite Registration for Football and Cheerleading

Here are the things you need to know before starting the day on July 1.

1. Weather. Sunny and hot weather is in for the day, with a high temp near 95 degrees and calm wind around 5 mph, according to the National Weather Service. Tonight is expected to be partly cloudy, with a low temp around 64 degrees and calm wind around 5 mph.

2. In case you missed it. : Despite predicted weekend temperatures in the 90s without a drop of rain in sight, there are still plenty of things to go see and do before the big July 4th extravaganzas on Monday. Check out the weekend planner for great ideas.

3. Happening. Registration is now taking place for the 2011 Acworth Football and Cheerleading Association season. The AFCA provides competitive and instructional football and cheerleading opportunities for children between the ages of 5 and 12. Practice begins the last week in July and season ends in early November. You can register online at www.acworthwarriors.com or there will be two onsite registration
dates left: Saturday, July 9, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Saturday, July 16, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Acworth Sports Complex. Registration fee is $200 for city residents, and $220 for non-residents.
