Citizens, community leaders and pastors will gather to pray for the nation in an event filled with prayer and music.

National Day of Prayer is an annual service held on the first Thursday of May. The occasion invites all faiths to participate, and was created in 1952 by a U.S. Congress joint resolution signed into law by President Harry S. Truman.
