Alcohol Task Force Helps Prevent Underage Drinking

Here are the things you need to know before starting the day on Oct. 10.

1. Weather. There is a 50 percent chance of showers today, with a high near 68 and wind between 10 and 15 mph, according to the National Weather Service. Showers are likely tonight, with a low around 60. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent, and wind could gust as high as 20 mph.

The Cobb Alcohol Task Force will be one of 25 venues at the upcoming free community health fair at Transfiguration Catholic Church at 1815 Blackwell Rd., Marietta, on Saturday, Oct. 22 from 10 a.m.–3 p.m. The task force will present facts about underage drinking’s impact on brain development, information about social host/teen party ordinances and the Cobb Safe Neighborhoods Safe Homes–a campaign that asks Cobb County residents to agree to six common sense safety steps to help adults keep youth safe by reducing their access to alcohol.
