College Visits at North Cobb High School

Here are the things you should know before heading out the door March 23.

1. Weather. Areas of fog are expected before 8am, with a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m. today, according to the National Weather Service. High temp is near 77 degrees, with southwest wind between 5 and 15 mph and gusts as high as 20 mph. Going into tonight, there will be a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 2 a.m. Temperatures will drop to around 50 degrees. Sunny weather is in the forecast for Thursday, according to the NWS.

2. In case you missed it. Acworth Serviceman Participates in Cobra Gold Overseas: For the son of an Acworth couple, providing humanitarian aid, civic assistance, and military training to a country known for deadly cobra snakes, Buddhist temples, and shrimp pad Thai, was quite an experience recently. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. John T. Skaggs, son of John T. and Linda Skaggs of Acworth, was one of more than 7,200 U.S. service members involved in Cobra Gold 2011, the largest multi-lateral military training exercise in the Pacific region.

3. Happening now. is hosting a senior day on March 25. is taking a bus for students to attend Senior Day. The cost is $6. Students who are interested in going on this field trip may stop by the Counseling Office to pick up a permission form. Payment must be made at the time of registration.

University of Alabama at Huntsville will have a representative at North Cobb on March 29. Brown Mackie College will also have a representative at the school on March 30 at 10 a.m. Students who are interested in meeting with the representatives, please stop by the Counseling Office to sign up for a pass.
