Expect a Wet Weekend

Here are the things you should know before heading out the door Mar. 4.

1. Weather. Occasional drizzle is expected today with a high temp near 54 degrees and east wind between 10 and 15 mph, according to the National Weather Service. Gusts can be as high as 25 mph. Rain will continue going into tonight with a low temp around 50. The chance of precipitation is 90%. Wet weather is in the forecast for this weekend, with possible thunderstorms and highs in the low 60s.

2. In case you missed it. North Cobb Christian Headed to Elite Eight: With a state quarterfinal berth at stake, the Eagles came out of the gate and shot 64 percent in the first half and jumped out to a 50-32 lead. North Cobb Christian then held off a furious fourth-quarter rally by Hancock Central to earn an 82-75 win and the state quarterfinal berth that comes with it.

Allatoona's Playoff Run Comes to an End: The Allatoona Buccaneers faced a tough task in the second round of the Class-AAA State Playoffs. After defeating Grady by one point in double overtime, an exhausting contest both mentally and physically, they faced the fourth-ranked Carrollton Trojans on Wednesday.
