Late Night Thunderstorms, April Luncheon

Here are the things you need to know before heading out the door on April 4.

1. Weather. There is a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms this afternoon, with the rest of the day expected to be mostly sunny, according to the National Weather Service. High temperature is near 82 degrees, with calm wind between 15 and 20 mph, and gust as high as 30 mph. More showers and thunderstorms are in the forecast for tonight, mainly after 8 p.m. Some of the storms could be severe, according to the NWS. Temperature will drop to around 48 degrees, with wind between 10 and 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. The NWS predicts the rainfall amount to be between a half and three quarters of an inch.

3. Happening now. The City of Acworth Parks and Recreation Departments will hold a Senior Luncheon on April 19. Join in for lunch, bingo, and other special activities. The luncheon will be held at Roberts School Community and Education Center in Acworth. Lunch is served at noon, followed by several rounds of bingo with prizes. This program is free to all seniors!
