Cobb Police are investigating a shooting that left one man dead and another with a wounded foot.
The shooting occurred on Tuesday evening at Parkview Apartments, off Six Flags Drive, in Austell.

Austell Police Help Capture Suspected ‘Dreaded Bandit’ and Armed Robbery Crew
The FBI was able to arrest four men, including one known as the "Dreaded Bandit," suspected of being part of an armed robbery crew, in Austell on Sept. 7, because of a traffic stop by an Austell Police officer.
Sgt. Robert Sfreddo, conducted a traffic stop after receiving reports that these individuals were acting in a suspicious manner at the PNC Bank, located at 2913 Veterans Memorial Parkway in Austell.

Coach Arrested, Charged With Sexual Assault of a Minor
Isuru Pasan Perera, 31, of Marietta was arrested for multiple sexual offenses against a minor.
Perera was taken into custody without incident on Saturday, Sept. 8, and is being held without bond at the Cobb County Jail, according to .
The original incident occurred in June of 2010 when the female juvenile victim attended the Champion Softball Complex located at 505 Commerce Park Drive, according to Marietta Police.
Wheeler Receives STEM Certification
recently was certified as a STEM school by the Georgia Department of Education.
The East Cobb school is the home to the Center for Advanced Studies in Math, Science and Technology.
In a message to Wheeler parents, Principal David Chiprany said the official certification will be presented at an Oct. 16 ceremony at the Doug Lipscomb Gym, with officials from the Georgia DOE on hand.
"This award is a reflection of the contribution of our entire staff, students, and parents toward our STEM Program," Chiprany said.
