Presidents Day, No School

Here are the things you should know before heading out the door Feb. 21.

1. Weather: Areas of fog is likely before 8 a.m., and cloudy skies are expected for the day with a high temp near 68, according to the National Weather Service. There will also be calm wind between 5 and 10 mph with gust as high as 15 mph. Going into Monday night, there is a 40 percent chance of rain, with a low temp around 47.

3. No school: Students in the Cobb County School System aren't scheduled to have class this week.

4. Happening now: Today is Presidents Day, and government offices are closed as well as post offices. Presidents Day is a federal holiday, also known as Washington's Birthday celebrated on the third Monday of February in honor of the first U.S. President George Washington.

5. What about Feb. 21: On this date in 1885, the newly completed Washington Monument was dedicated.
