Here are the things you need to know before heading out the door on April 29.

1. Weather. Sunny weather is in for today and throughout the weekend. High temp is near 76 degrees today, with calm wind between 5 and 10 mph and gust as high as 15 mph, according to the National Weather Service. Mostly clear skies are expected tonight, and temperature will drop to a low around 43 degrees. Northwest wind will be around 5 mph. Saturday and Sunday will be sunny with high temperatures in the low-80s, according to the NWS.

2. In case you missed it. : Reduced operating hours for Cobb libraries were announced Wednesday, with cutbacks go into effect on May 1, including the Acworth, West Cobb and Kennesaw branches.

The will no longer be open on Fridays as a result of the cutbacks. The new hours for the branch will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Wednesday, and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday. The current hours for the library are from 10 a.m. to 7 a.m. Monday-Thursday, and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday.

Girl Scout Troop 2376 will be cleaning up Acworth Beach and from 9 a.m. on Saturday. The troop received earlier last week for this upcoming service project.

Also on Saturday, the and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will be collecting potentially dangerous expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs for destruction from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Acworth Police Department at 440 Acworth Industrial Dr. It is part of a nationwide initiative to prevent increased prescription pill abuse and theft.
