Volunteer with Patch at Lake Allatoona Cleanup

Here are the things you need to know before starting the day on Sept. 16.

1. Weather. Today is expected to be mostly cloudy, with a high near 75 and wind between 10 and 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph, according to the National Weather Service. A 20 percent chance of showers is in for tonight, with mostly cloudy skies and a low around 53.

3. Happening. Join our group of Patch editors from Metro Atlanta Patches to volunteer and give back to the community at the 26th Annual Saturday, Sept. 17. from 9 a.m.-noon. This is a great opportunity for everyone to come and help clean up the shoreline of both Lake Acworth and Lake Allatoona. Our Patch team will be volunteering at in Acworth, while the Lake Allatoona Cleanup starts simultaneously at the Riverside Day Camp Area on Allatoona Dam Road in Cartersville.
