Help Acworth Police 'Cover the Bases' at Horizon Field.

All proceeds from Friday event benefit special needs athletes and baseball field.

Get ready to 'Cover the Bases' for Horizon Field and special needs athletes.

This Friday at 7 p.m. at Horizon Field, the Acworth Police Department will kick-off the 6th annual Covering the Bases fundraiser to support special needs athletes. Activities scheduled during the 24-hour fundraiser include concerts, the Disney movie "Brave," bounce houses, a dunk tank, pitching tunnel, a midnight kickball tournament and more.

The police department has received several items for the silent auction, which begins at 7 p.m. Friday. Items include a mountain bike (PTS Sport Solution), a custom set of UGA cornhole boards, a gift certificate for a flying lesson, autographed Tom Glavine jersey and baseballs, autographed Pete Smith jersey and more.
