The 6th Annual Covering the Bases fundraiser for Horizon Field is a month away.
Covering the Bases, which will be held from 7 p.m. Sept. 13 to 7 p.m. Sept. 14, was initially started to help raise money to build a synthetic rubberized ball field for children with developmental and physical disabilities.
"This fundraiser has since helped maintain the field, equipment, and create new programs such as a kickball league, soccer clinics, and an adult baseball league," according to the event announcement on the Acworth Police Department's Facebook page.
The event will feature live concerts, a midnight kickball tournament and a movie on the field.
