Henry's 'Liverversary' to Help Those Needing Transplants

Chef Henry Chandler, liver transplant recipient, supports Georgia Transplant Foundation with fundraiser.

Chef Henry Chandler plans to celebrate the fifth anniversary of his life-saving liver transplant in a big way.

On Saturday, Sept. 21, from 7 to 10 p.m., he will host his annual Liverversary Celebration, a fundraiser that benefits the Georgia Transplant Foundation.

Henry’s Louisiana Grill will open its doors to raise money and give hope to those in desperate need of an organ donor. The event will feature authentic Cajun cuisine, music, dancing, a mini-iPad raffle and a live auction.

“This is our fourth Liverversary Celebration and every year it gets more exciting,” Chandler said in a press release. “Last year we raised our biggest donation to date—$15,000—and we hope to top that this year. That means we can save lives—help people who are praying, as I did, for the miracle of rescue from a life-giving donor. Having the chance to help in even one miracle is a blessing.”

Chandler has planned a delicious spread for the evening, including Spicy Boiled Jumbo Shrimp, Cajun Pesto Pasta Salad, Natchitoches Meat Pies, Chicken Taquitos, Baby Key Lime Pie and Blondies. Crafted cocktails, wine and Abita beer will be available from a cash bar.

Sponsorship of the event is available. Click here to find more information. General tickets are $25 each and can be purchased here. All proceeds will benefit the Georgia Transplant Foundation.
