Tyler Perry Helps Atlanta Family with Sick Child

With Stockbridge family facing eviction, the Atlanta entertainer steps in with an offer to pay the family's rent for a year.

Tyler Perry to the rescue!

After seeing a WSB TV report Monday about a Henry County family facing eviction on Tuesday, the Atlanta filmmaker stepped in with an offer to pay the family’s rent for a year.

As the news outlet reports, Xernna Nieves, a single, unemployed mother of four, faced eviction after recently returning from a Make-A-Wish event. One of the children, a 16-year-old boy, has severe aplastic anemia and has already endured two bone marrow transplants.

The Stockbridge mother told WSB on Monday, “I have no place to go. I really have no place to go.”

And fortunately the 44-year-old entertainment star was tuning in, offering to pay the rent and telling Nieves that his gesture to help had no strings attached.

“I just wanted to tell him, to thank him. My family and I, we thank you,” Nieves said. See more from WSB here.
