Obituary: Michelle Herendeen Evans, 52

Michelle “Shelly” Herendeen Evans, 52, of Acworth, GA, passed away on Dec. 28, 2013, at home after battling a year long illness. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio on June 9, 1961.  Michelle grew up in Grand River, Ohio and attended Painesville Riverside High School, graduating in 1979 before attending Ohio State University from 1979 to 1981.

Michelle worked as a District Manager, General Manager and Regional Manager from different companies throughout her professional career.  She was employed as a general manager for Market Source until her passing.

Survivors are her daughter, Taylor Marie Evans, and Taylor’s friend, Robert Hooks, both of Acworth, GA; brothers, Mark Herendeen of Fayetteville, GA and Kevin (Kelly) Herendeen; niece, Riley and nephew, Reece of Aurora, Ohio; uncles, Gary Garth of Columbus, Ohio and Doug (JoAnn) Pykonen and cousin, Dougie Pykonen of Painesville, Ohio; dear friend, Kenneth Chitwood, of Acworth, GA; Ex-husband, Kim Evans and sister in-law, Shirley Benjamin, of Acworth, GA.  She also leaves behind several close and dear friends that helped her throughout her lingering illness.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Carol JoAnn (Pykonen) Herendeen and John Walace Herendeen.

Her family wants everyone to remember her as a caring, loving, giving person that fought a courageous fight to the end and Michelle would want everyone to celebrate her life.

A memorial service will be held at a future date.  In lieu of flowers the family asks that any donation be made to help Taylor Marie Evans continue her pursue of her college education from Georgia Highlands College. Donations can be sent to 295 Mimosa Drive, Fayetteville, GA 30214.
