Update: 12-Year-Old Back Home

Alejandro Medina went missing in Smyrna about 7 p.m. Monday.

A 12-year-old Cobb County boy returned home safe this morning after failing to make it back from a friend’s apartment Monday evening, Cobb police reported.

The Crimes Against Children Unit put out an alert for Alejandro Medina about 5 a.m. today, asking the public's help to locate him.

With the week off from , Alejandro Medina spent Monday afternoon at the friend’s home at the Harmony Falls Apartments on Smyrna-Powder Springs Road in Smyrna.

He talked to his mother on the phone about 6:30 p.m. and left roughly 30 minutes later to walk slightly more than a mile to his home at the Harmony Springs Apartments on Personality Parkway south of the city of Marietta and west of Smyrna.

But Alejandro never arrived Monday night. Cobb police did not explain in a news release where he spent the night, but he made it home in good condition this morning.
