Accused Home Depot Shoplifter Arrested

Twice, he allegedly stole items from an Acworth Home Depot.

The Cobb County Police Department has arrested an Atlanta man wanted in connection with two separate incidents of theft at an Acworth Home Depot.

According to a Cobb County criminal warrant, Gregory S. Barron allegedly took a $524 Lincoln electronic welder and a $499 DeWalt combo kit from the Home Depot at 3355 Cobb Pkwy. at 9 p.m. Feb. 20.

He allegedly returned to the same Home Depot between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. March 16 and again took a $524 Lincoln electronic welder.

Store security footage captured both thefts, officials said.

"Store security was able to identify (the) accused due to previous thefts and apprehensions involving (the) accused at other Home Depot stores," authorities wrote in the warrant.

Barron, who was arrested Saturday, faces various charges, including three counts of theft by shoplifting and one count of possession of methamphetamine. All are felonies. He is in custody at the Cobb County Jail in lieu of a $10,000 bond for the shoplifting charges and a $20,000 bond for the possession charge.

Barron also has holds in Bartow and Floyd counties, according to online jail records.
